This custom media was created for a community college certificate prep course as part of a larger project to shift their entire program online.
There are three parts to this activity, which were placed strategically in different modules throughout the course in the organization's learning management system (Canvas).​ They feature knowledge checks, non-branching scenarios, tabbed interactions, and video integration.

Regulation of Respiration

This interactive learning experience immerses the learner into a deep exploration of respiratory physiology and regulation of the breathing process.
The module features diagrams, figures, and images to illustrate concepts. The content has been chunked into easily-digestible lessons for the learner, and complex concepts are further broken down with strategic page sections, accordion menus, and ordered lists. It concludes by assessing the learning objectives with a low-stakes knowledge check.

Food Safety

This interactive learning experience introduces some basic food safety guidelines, sanitation techniques, and common mistakes.
The activity features embedded video, hot spots, accordion drop-down menus, and tabbed interactions. The learning objectives are measured using multiple choice, matching, and fill-in-the-blank quiz assessment types.

Sensory Analysis

Two culinary nutrition food sensory analysis activities were recorded and enriched with interactive assessments to make them more engaging for online adult learners. The videos were uploaded to the organization's streaming service and embedded in the organization's learning management system (Blackboard).
The knowledge check interactions were developed with the instructor to align with learning objectives. Question types include multiple choice, single choice, fill in the blank, and mark the word, and image drag & drop.
